Over the years, I have had the opportunity to help designers, art directors and clients with a wide variety of design and illustration services. Some clients included: PC Connection,
Scarborough (now part of Crabtree and Evelyn) and the Nantucket Briar pattern and concept emerged and has been used for the past 25 years.
The advent of the computer has enhanced the structure of my career. I resisted at first, but found myself diving right into my first Apple, a Performa.
I realized that there was very little need for the mockup illustrator any more in the field, but I attained an urgent desire to translate my artistic sensibilities
into digital form. Learning and using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Streamline, Adobe InDesign (and others) over many years, they now seem second nature to me.
I am a designer and a painter now. My interest in illusion and magic leads me to the technical knowledge about art always fascinated me, but one has to be a good designer first to design well on the computer.
The important factor is that when I got away from the computer and back at the table, I was really using my good old hand skills - my talent for drawing and painting- for a better purpose. Getting back to paint on canvas,
so the urge to paint on canvas and watercolors had their turns in the line up. Always staying flexible to learn new tricks in digital form as well as, mastering age old painting techniques has kept me satisfied.
I love contrast and learning new things.
