You've come to the right place for hand-crafted lettering and label design that honors the fine designers a hundred years ago. I've been attracted
to Fruit Crate labels since my college days. Canton Kumquats was a senior project. I was playing with graphics as my "statement" back in 1972. Since
then I've done vast amounts of illustration for magazines and books. When ever possible my love of vintage styles was brought into the spotlight. I've
created many logos, and hand-built titles often integrating old-fashioned illustrative painting. Working with Scarborough and Company, now part of Crabtree
and Evelyn, I produced a package design that involved an intricate background pattern still in use today, twenty-five years later.
My sensitive style blended surprisingly well with many advertising programs. In the early years, PC Connection, one of the first software catalog
companies, was advertising themselves with the pervasive raccoon mascot. I was the artist for all of the ad and catalog illustration connected with
the raccoon. Badger products used my artwork for one of their labels, Sore Muscle Rub. In 2012, Disney Imagineering, hired me for a set of design posters and mini murals.
With the accumulation of my computer design skills, many new avenues
opened up. I am able to create highly technical work using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
Illustrated maps, technical photo layouts, print ads, gif animations,
and now Quicktime productions, are all part of my skill set as well.
